'Alae 'ula - Hawaiian Gallinule or Mud Hen
A family of endangerded 'alae 'ula that live in the Nawiliwili Stream in Lihue, Kauai.
According to Hawaiian legend, the ‘Alae ‘ula told Maui to rub together sticks of ‘iliahi, which means 'fire bark', to produce fire
