Sleeping giant is sleepy
My new WOW surfboard shaped by Warwick Gray from Walk On Water. This board is so awesome and unlike any board I have ever surfed. This thing nose rides and pulls floaters for days! You can't tell by the pic but the paint and glass job actually make it look like it glows! A true piece of art to be sure!
My buddy Vic has been making these really cool paddles. Here is his latest work of art

Do Not Feed the Fear
Flow...Let yourself go! Another page in my art journal to remind me to let life and emotions flow and not hang on to negative thoughts or limiting beliefs
Some colorful fishing nets and ropes that the ocean had knitted together and gave to the beach
Fighting through the fear of how I think I am perceived by others, I am posting this art journal page, that I did over the weekend, which holds some personal significance to me as a growing artist who can express myself without fear of being judged, ridiculed or any other self inhibiting thoughts.
I am taking a seven week Personal branding course with Katie Freiling over the nest couple of weeks, so I won't be posting as much during this time. Also, I am working on setting up a new blog with Wordpress. So. please keep checking back, because I am excited about where the next phase of my life, art and business are going. Aloha and Peace until next time!
Here is a sign I made over the weekend for my friends Warwick and Lorelei over at WOW Standup Surfboards
I am taking part in an online seminar on personal branding and wondering about my name Chongolio. Is it easily remembered? Is it catchy or weird sounding? Does it capture the imagination or make you want to take flight? I have been using Chongolio for years as an online entity and artist but now thinking about using my other less exotic sounding name RDBcreative instead. Your thoughts are appreciated
I got an invite to try the the Google Music cloud so I hooked up my external drive with all my music backed up and let it go to work. A few songs were denied because of DMR or unsupported file types, but for the most part so far so good
Blue sharpie doodles II. This time I tried a thin layer of Mod Podge over the acrylic paint background to see if the sharpie went on a little smoother. It didn't and I burned through another new sharpie doing this page.
blue sharpie doodles over an acrylic background on gessoed paper. My pens got really clogged up and the nibs all kinds of chewed up. Next time I am gonna try a light coat of Mod Podge over background to see if that helps
This World Needs More Flying Monkeys!
Skull and cross bones from my art journal
Mac at Hollywood Beach. Super windy his ears were a-flappin'
Ventura beach shack
So I started an art journal, a place where I can just let the ideas run wild. A place where my inner critic is not allowed.
My first print of the Cigar Box Butter Chimp using an Ezprints screen on some test paper . I am quite happy with the way it held the detail. The Ezprint screen was really easy to make and way simpler than making a decal.
This is a hand drawn character I came up with for a 4 color t-shirt design for Rocco's pizza place which will be opening up in the Harbor mall in Lihue, Kauai
First layer on the front: vinyl scraps and some fabric. The stripy fabric makes the eyes go a bit buggy!
A collection of bits and bobs laying around my studio that I put together that will someday become a piece of art.
This last weekend I found a lot of good stuff in the thrift stores, received my order from EZprints and bought some art supplies and a couple new tools. I am gonna be busy!
The Collectors, Two Octopuses desperately want to add this little sunken tiki mug to their display case.
Acrylic and paint pens on a 18 x 24" canvas and sealed with polyurethane. The sides of the canvas have been embellished with iridescent sequins.
